Longchamp is the largest racecourse in Paris and France. It occupies 50 hectares of the Bois de Boulogne. It is one of the few racecourses located on a hill, which creates additional difficulties for jockeys. More than half of France's flat races are held at the Parisian racecourse. The stands can accommodate 50,000 spectators.
